Staying in Corfu Town has its advantages — museums, markets, a night life that actually runs — but the best water sports happen on the coast, not in the Old Town. Here's how our apartment guests combine Old Town evenings with daytime water activities at the island's best spots.
Water Sports You Can Do From Town
Boat Rental from the Old Port (€90-120/day)
The easiest water-sport to access from our apartment. Walk down to the Old Port (10 min), pick up a small motorboat — no license for sub-30hp models — and spend the day exploring the coastline north or south. Small runabouts fit four, cost €80-120 per day, and come with a full tank. A day on the water this way is one of the Corfu Town visits our guests always recommend to friends.
SUP at Mon Repos / Faliraki (€15/hour)
The two swimming spots near Corfu Town both have SUP rental in summer. Not the best water on the island, but good enough for an hour's paddle before lunch and reachable on foot. For a real SUP morning, drive up to the north coast.
Worth the Drive
Sea Kayak Tour from Kassiopi (€45 half-day)
50 minutes' drive north. Half-day guided tour exploring sea caves and hidden inlets along the northeast coast — one of the most popular activities our guests book. Morning departures usually, returning by early afternoon, in time for lunch at Kassiopi village and then back to the Old Town for the evening.
Scuba at Paleokastritsa (€80 fun dive)
40 minutes west. The best diving in Corfu, period — dramatic underwater cliffs, 25m+ visibility, PADI centres running daily trips. Certified divers do a two-tank morning; beginners take a try dive or sign up for a full Open Water course spread over a few days.
Windsurfing at Agios Georgios (€35/hour)
1 hour west. The consistent wind sport spot on the island, with schools for beginners and rental for experienced. Afternoon-only discipline — the Etesian winds kick in after lunch. Combines well with a morning hike or village lunch on the west side.
Jet-Ski & Parasailing at Dassia (€70-80)
25 minutes north at the organised east-coast beaches. The full menu of adrenaline sports — jet-ski, parasail, banana boat. Good half-day option for families or groups who want variety.
From the apartment
The KTEL Green Bus from Corfu Town reaches most coastal destinations but doesn't sync well with water-sport schedules — early morning SUP paddles or afternoon wind sessions both run into bus timing problems. A hire car pays for itself in convenience alone.

What to Bring
Most operators supply everything — wetsuit, mask, fins, boards, life jackets. Bring reef shoes for rocky entries, reef-safe sunscreen, a towel, and a dry-bag for your phone and cash.
Car Hire
Herbie Car Hire
Free delivery to the apartment. Worth it for any day trip — the most memorable water sports are not in town.

Our sister property Corfu Beach and Town has a beach house on the north coast — close to kayaking spots, SUP outside the door. Consider that if your trip is water-sports-heavy.
